Mark heads up dmg events' Energy Sector.
He joined dmg events back in 1997, and developed their art and antiques show division, including the launch and growth of a strong online publishing business. In 2004, he began to build dmg events' technology event sector, a market with huge recovery potential following the dotcom crash at the start of the century. After acquiring ad:tech, iMedia and Evanta within an 18 month timeframe, the sector grew to be one of dmg's largest through a process of cloning events across the world.
Mark also oversaw the restructuring of dmg's Australian business and the UK Business Media operations prior to their sale in 2009, then in late 2009 he assumed responsibility for dmg's Energy businesses in Europe and North America, including the market-leading Gastech and Global Petroleum Show events.
Having started his professional life as a research engineer, Mark qualified as a chartered accountant (CPA) in 1990, working on mergers and acquisitions in London, before moving into an operational role as part of a turnaround team of an international graphic arts business.
